Handwoven in Northern Ireland, and inspired by bohemian living, these luxurious silk and merino scarves are a perfect example of slow, sustainable fashion. Inspired by the wonderful range of colours within the Irish land and sea scape, which are frequently exposed to the full range of conditions within a single day, each scarf takes several days thought and work and will be unique for the owner. A blend of silk threads (55%), Merino wool (40%) and cashmere (5%), they are perfect for glitzy evening wear, or as a cosy wrap for the variable outdoor temperatures. The wool comes from sheep bred and shorn in Ireland. and all the processing, treatment, spinning, dyeing and preparing, is also all completed in Ireland. More about HMS Grainger. Hannah Mary Sally Grainger attended the Belfast School of Art and graduated from the University of Ulster in 2002. She has travelled throughout Europe and both Japan and China learning from different cultures. Hannah gained experience and new skills working with a high end designer, who created large tapestries for prestigious hotels and public buildings. She now weaves in her own studio, creating her unique hand-made scarves with local materials. The scarves are for both fashion and function. Some have silk interwoven for trendy occasions and others are woven for the escape to the wild outdoors. The vast majority of her materials are sourced in the west coast of Ireland, through which the now famous wild Atlantic way passes.
