Laurus Nobilis, also known as the Bay Laurel, Bay Tree, True Laurel or Grecian laurel tree is a popular fragrant evergreen plant suitable for containers or planted in the ground as a small tree. The bay tree has a noble history. It was sacred to the god Apollo and laurel wreaths were worn by poets and emperors in ancient Greece and Rome. Bay leaves can be used fresh or dried in cooking to give a fragrant flavour to soups and stews. Cherry Laurel Caucasica

Cherry Laurel Caucasica

Dark and glossy leaves throughout the year. Evergreen foliage densely stretches across these Cherry Laurel, accented with spring flowers and shiny autumn berries - the bees will love them!'Caucasica' are similar in many ways to the widely grown 'Rotundifolia' variety of Cherry Laurel, except they are much hardier and better equipped for more-or-less any weather the British winter has in store for them. Each leaf that makes up the foliage of these strong-growing shrubs is big and dark green, emerging along upright branches. Spring brings fragrant white blooms, soon followed by dark autumnal berries to feed the birds. In fact, this variety is even recommended by the RHS as a 'Plant for Pollinators', due to an ability to draw the attention of beneficial insects. These easy-to-grow Cherry Laurels have the capacity to become tree-like with age, even potentially stretching up to 8m tall! Many planted together will form a privacy-inducing hedge or natural screen.Supplied as a set of 25 established plants in 5L pots, ready to plant. These Cherry Laurel will already stand around 100-120cm tall on arrival. Please note: A delivery surcharge applies to this product as it is supplied on a Pallet. Surcharge is set at £69.99. Portuguese Laurel Cherry (Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia) - Cone

Portuguese Laurel Cherry (Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia) - Cone

Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia (Portuguese Laurel, Cherry Laurel) topiary shaped into a regular, conical shrub available in a range of sizes from 125 cm - 300 cm. It is very easy to maintain and requires little pruning - a couple of trims each year if necessary in April or mid-July will keep it in shape. Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia is a bushy, evergreen shrub which has been widely used since Victorian times to create Italian style gardens. It has an exotic appearance with dense large dark green leaves that appear on dark red stems. Angustifolia has narrower leaves than the species with stalks and new twigs of a brighter red colour. Portuguese Laurel bears numerous racemes of scented white flowers in June, which produce red turning to black berries much loved by birds. Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia is a frost hardy tree that does well in full sun but will thrive almost anywhere. It prefers acidic, permeable soil rich in organic matter. Once established it tolerates dry spells in summer although regular watering will result in richer and healthier foliage so continue watering in winter when the ground is not frozen.
