The action of Not For Broadcast takes place in an alternative, dystopian version of the eighties of the last century, in which social unrest is on the agenda, so the risk of a revolution is very high. During the game, we play the role of a hero working in a TV studio as a cleaner. As a result of an unexpected twist of events, the protagonist joins the National Nightly News team. From now on, it will be him who will decide what message is to come from the TV news, and thus - influence the public opinion. It depends on the choices we make whether the station is censored or decides to publicize the truth (usually sad or at least controversial). In Not For Broadcast, we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game, we sit at the professional editorial equipment, which we operate, using various switches ourselves, inserting cassettes into VCRs and observing the effects of our actions on cathode ray tube screens. Everything related to the functioning of television news rests on our shoulders. So we primarily deal with the selection of topics, and we also decide how they will be presented - we choose the content of information bars and camera shots, or we decide on the censorship of curses (or content undesirable by the "top"). We also have to spend some airtime on advertisements (which we select ourselves, of course), because the income from their broadcast is added to our bank account.
