The Avon Heel™ Static Mattress is expertly designed to provide superior comfort and targeted pressure relief, particularly for the vulnerable heel area. Ideal for individuals at high to very high risk of developing pressure ulcers, this mattress integrates advanced features to promote skin integrity and user well-being. Constructed with advanced combustion-modified ether (CME) foam technology, this Pressure Mattress features a castellated foam surface atop a robust "U-shaped" foam base. To ensure optimal pressure redistribution in high-risk areas, the castellated zones are designed with smaller segments at the head and foot ends and larger segments in the centre, effectively supporting and managing the patient’s core weight. The ultra-soft heel section incorporates a sloped design to minimise pressure, while a lateral (left-to-right) cut of visco-elastic foam enhances comfort, delivering maximum support and relief where it is most needed. The mattress is protected by a durable, multi-stretch, water-resistant, vapour-permeable cover featuring welded seams and an anti-microbial coating. This design provides excellent defence against water ingress while supporting effective infection control.
