The Tenants is a simulation game that allows us to experience the life of the owner of a rented apartment. The production was developed by an independent Polish team, Ancient Forge Studio, and was released by the Frozen District company.
Gameplay
In The Tenants, the action is shown from a bird's eye view. We start the game with buying a property and preparing it for rent, which requires a major renovation and purchase of appropriate furniture. There is nothing else for us to do but to contact potential tenants by phone. After selecting the right (at least at first glance) tenants, we can focus on observing their lives ... and waiting for the development of events, which may take an extremely "interesting" turn over time.
It turns out that not only noisy students can cause trouble for us; the good old lady living with a legion of cats can also be problematic. When things start to get out of hand, our intervention will be necessary - while a telephone conversation with our neighbors or a visit by the police in our apartment during a loud party does not mean the end of the world yet, a fire caused by an inattentive tenant can significantly complicate our lives.
However, if we rent an apartment to the right people, we will start earning on it over time. We can invest the obtained funds in new real estate. Proper investments not only pay off quickly, but also accelerate the increase in the number of zeros on our account, and thus - give us the opportunity to purchase more apartments.
