Ron Esclavo XO Rum The Ron Esclavo series of rums contains four delicate rums from the Dominican Republic, all of which are tropically aged. Each has been created with passion, using the fresh juices extracted from hand-cut sugar cane. The aging is then completed in American and French oak barrels.  They have been created as an homage to the slaves who were instrumental in the history of sugar cane and rum. (Esclavo is even the Spanish word for slave).  Crafted by Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos, the largest alcohol producer in the Dominican Republic, they use only sugar cane grown in the Dominican Republic on their own plantations. In this way they ensure they give back to the community, securing work for locals and ensuring the perfect quality. Ron Esclavo XO Rum is matured between 12-15 years, giving it a amber hue. On the nose, there is nice upfront spice with notes of beeswax, followed by ripe fruits.. Plantation Rum Panama 2008 70cl

Plantation Rum Panama 2008 The story of Plantation Rum began in the 1990's, when Alexandre Gabriel travelled the Caribbean looking for the best rums of the region. In doing this, he began the creation of an artisanal range of rums from the great terroirs of the tropics. These rums are brought back to Maison Ferrand in France, where they are, depending on the rum, allowed to age further or bottled straight away. Their Panama Rum is a limited edition, and part of their Under the Sea range (hence the nautical theme of the box and bottle). This is a 2008 vintage, which was matured for 12 years in Panama. It was then transported to France where it was allowed a further maturation on ex-Ferrand Cognac casks for another year. It was then finally bottled ready for sale in 2021. This has a delicious fruity aroma, with peaches and red berries coming through. These are joined with orange peel, a touch of nutmeg and white pepper, lemongrass and a hint of custard.  On the palate this has rich honeycomb, red apples, hazelnuts and toffee - all rounded out with a hint of tobacco, and a chocolate finish. Filliers 10 Years Single Malt Whisky Distilling for over five generations, the Filliers distillery was initially only a side venture to their farming venture. It's this history, dating from 1880 that ensures Filliers create delicious and well loved drinks. They do as much on-site as they can. They pump their own spring water, gind the grain, create their own fruit and herb distillates, ferment, distill and age. Their Single Malt Whisky is a special drink. It's the oldest whisky from Belgium which has been rested and aged exclusively on ex-sherry barrels made from European Oak. Like the whole of their range of drinks, Filliers take care, and time creating their whisky. At least ten years in fact! This time in the barrels ensures maximum flavour in the final drink. As could be expected from 10 years in ex-sherry casks, the aroma had strong notes of Sherry to it. These are joined with both floral and dried fruit aromas. On the palate the balance is perfect. Spicy, dark chocolate, and toffee all blend with wood, walnut & orange flavours. Isle of Raasay Single Malt Whisky (Batch II) To create their second release Single Malt whisky, the Raasay Distillery take two Isle of Raasay spirits – one peated and one unpeated. They then mature each of these seperately in three different casks – first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. These six recipe casks are then married together to create the perfect dram with a real elegance, complexity and depth of character. As the name would suggest, every drop of spirit is distilled, matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay using water from their well: "Tobar na Ba Bàine" (the Well of the Pale Cow). This second release was distilled between 22/11/17 and 27/2/18. Vattting was 23/7/21 to 16/8/21 and then bottling started 17/8/21. The flavours of this whisky truly represent the signature Isle of Raasay style: lightly peated with rich dark fruit. Texelse TX Ocean Aged Gin Somethings take time to perfect .... and this gin is one of them. Taking their TX Gin (filled with flavours local to Texel), Stokerij Texel use French Oak Bordeaux barrels, and send their gin on a journey. Their fresh and spicy gin makes its way across the ocean on a sailing boat heading for the carribean. The return trip takes around eight months, and in that time the barrels are subjected to gentle wave movements, a salty and warm climate (at least when nearing the caribbean), which provides a more mature and delicate taste to their already delicious gin. Whilst the eight month trip is leisurely, it actually speeds the ageing process. On land, resting the gin in barrels to get the same influence on the gin would take over 5 years! The result is a gin which maintains its origins, but takes on a whole new character. The barrels give something special to the gin, and the gin has notes of caramel and vanilla added. Definitely TX gin, but something more.. This unique selection of botanicals are used in combination with the more traditional botanicals, including juniper (of course) and work really well together. This premium gin is incredibly smooth with a soft taste profile. The herbs give a delicious flavour which lead to a light peppery finish and are heightened when served with the special garnish - a dried, smoked orange wheel. Fresh oranges are sliced, dried and smoked at Van Linschoten adding a unique taste to a G&T.
