Hayman's Exotic Citrus Gin 70cl
Hayman's Exotic Citrus Gin In 1863 when James Burrough, opened a small distillery in Chelsea, London. He experimented with a number of gin recipes, giving them names such as Burrough’s, Olde Chelsey, Beefeater and Black Cat. It was James who poineered the London Dry gin which is known and loved today (at that time, London's gin of choice was Old Tom). It was this which led to the development of the Beefeater Gin brand.... but it also spurred the Hayman's gin brand. The current Master Distiller of Hayman's (Christopher Hayman) is the great grandson of James Burrough. For their Exotic Citrus Gin, Hayman's have looked to their history. Over 150 years ago, they were the first gin distilling family to include citrus as a key botanical in their gin. The result is a gin which is bursting with the flavours of vibrant exotic citrus fruits; kumquat, pomelo, Persian lime and mandarin. This ensures a gin which is bright, and fresh - full of citrus flavours which creates a deliciously elegant serve. On the nose there is the juniper, which is supported by sweet fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it imparts a tangy and zesty flavour with bright juniper and hints of spice. Whilst not a sweet gin, it is rounded with a delicate sweetness which balances the gin perfectly. Gently poir over 150ml of your chosen tonic (we like Fentimans Connoiseurs Tonic Water). Stir gently and garnish with a slice of fresh orange and a sprig of basil. As an alternative, try in an Exotic Citrus Cooler. Replace the tonic with grapefruit juice and top with soda water.
