GreedFall is an RPG with a clear action game element. The title was developed by Spiders studio, which has in its portfolio such titles as The Technomancer or Bound by Flame, while its release was handled by Focus Home Interactive. GreedFall takes us on a journey to a fantastic 17th century stylized universe. The overpopulated and polluted Old World is being decimated by a mysterious plague known as Malichor. Its inhabitants see a chance for rescue in the New World, and more precisely - in the island of Teer Fradee, allegedly full of treasures and other secrets, where the indigenous people live in harmony with nature. As the colonizers become bolder and bolder there, relations between them and the natives become more and more tense. In the course of the game, we play the role of a young legate of the Merchant Congregation who comes to the island to deal with diplomatic relations with other nations, but above all - to find a cure for a disease that destroys the Old World. During the adventure, we must make efforts not to expose ourselves too much to either the indigenous people (protected by the so-called Guardians - monsters and other supernatural beings who are a manifestation of magic at work here), or representatives of other factions from the continent. The decisions we make affect not only the distribution of power on the island, but also how you will be able to perform many tasks. We start playing GreedFall with the character creation process, which includes choosing a gender and a few basic attributes. The creators decided to use the hero development system without dividing into classes - there are over a hundred skills to be unlocked here, divided into three extended categories and allowing the protagonist to be adapted to the individual style of the game. The story is driven by tasks that we can perform in several ways. While nothing prevents you from using force to solve problems, it is often better to use deception or rely on your diplomatic skills. The path we take, as well as which of the parties we support in a given dispute, affects not only our reputation, but also the local geopolitical situation. In addition, the choices we make have an impact on which of the potential companions decides to join us, and on his later attitude towards the hero - it is possible to lead to both a romance and an open conflict with a given ally. During the long campaign, both people, local animals and the above-mentioned monsters, called the Guardians, stand in our way. During the fight, we use melee and firearms, which can be improved by making use of an extensive crafting system; the same goes for The three-dimensional graphics of GreedFall are pleasing to the eye. When working on the visual layer of the production in question, the developers modeled themselves on Baroque works of art and colonial-era sources.
