Mammillaria spinossima - Spiny Pin Cushion Cactus

Description

The Mammillaria spinossima is a green bodied cactus with interesting spination, it has bristly red/brown or white/yellow central spines. You can choose which colour spines you would prefer between the two when ordering. This cactus will grow up in a cylindrical stem usually solitary to 30cm tall and 10cm wide. The Mammillaria has a ring of delicate pink flowers which appear around the top of the head in the summer months, these are no more than 2cm long but lots of them. This cactus is native to Mexico primarily growing in the desert or dry shrub land. No more difficult to grow than other cacti requiring your brightest location for the summer months and free draining gritty compost, with attention to watering.
