Black body emissions occur for all material the sensor is designed to detect a change in these emissions even at relatively low temperatures when the material moves through its field of view.Air purging from a mains operated Air Purged Blower APB feed is used to maintain a positive air pressure in the sensor enclosure and ensures the prevention of dust settling on the sensor window.The air supply is monitored by a pressure switch which on air failure is signalled as a fault status.The 5410 incorporates within the unit a series of user programmable SIL switches. Option selection including detector sensitivity settings automanual reset sequence selection and single coincidence voting from the two individual internal detectors for the alarm trip and shutdown outputs.The sensor air pressure and signal cable connections are fault monitored and fail safe. Kidde Airsense Air Heat Box 9-30422The Stratos range of High Sensitivity Aspirating Smoke Detectors are suitable for installation within an area only if the ambient temperature is expected to be above 0C the minimum operating temperature of a Stratos detector is typically -10C check the specification of the particular detector in question. Where the air temperature in the protected area is consistently below this temperature it is imperative that the detector is mounted outside the protected area in an environment where the temperature meets that specified for the detector.However the sampled air from the protected area must be conditioned before it is passed into the detector. The Air Heater Box is designed to raise the temperature of the air drawn from a very cold environment by passing it across a heating element before it passes into the detector. In this manner the problem of condensation on sampling pipework external to the protected area is minimised. Warming the air sample will also ensure the components of the detector operate within the specified temperature tolerances and it reduces the possibility of surface condensation.

It offers application specific sensitivity adjustment alongside pre-signalling and pollution analyses. The ASD 535 detects even minuscule glowing and smouldering fires and can be deployed practically anywhere.The ASD 535 consists of one or two independent sampling lines with sampling apertures each with a highly sensitive smoke sensor. Air flow monitoring ensures that the sampling lines are constantly checked for pipe breakage and the sampling holes monitored for pollution.
