Schein is an atmospheric platform game with logical elements in which manipulating light is the key to success. The title was developed by the debuting Austrian studio Zeppelin, founded by a group of students from Vienna. The idea and performance of the game were appreciated already at the production stage, during several reviews and festivals of independent artists. Gameplay The plot of the game tells the story of a desperate man who, in search of his son, finds himself in a dark and dangerous swamp. There, after some time, he gets lost, losing almost all hope. Fortunately, a mysterious firefly appears on his way, offering his help and the magical power of light that changes reality. In his company, the man continues his journey with new hope of retrieving his son and finding his way back. However, the journey through the swamps is filled with many traps, in which he will be overcome by an unusual companion of misery. The starting point for the creators were classic two-dimensional platformers from the 90s. Their simple mechanics, however, were diversified with logical elements and the need to manipulate light. Our hero traverses 12 different levels, running and jumping on various platforms and facing four dangerous monsters, each of which requires a slightly different approach. Light is the key to success. Only in its vicinity can our ancestor feel safe and only with his help will he solve the puzzles waiting for him, defeat the enemies lurking in the darkness and find all hidden passages.
