Nova-111 is an unusual action adventure game for PCs that combines elements of a platformer with the mechanisms of turn-based strategies. The production was developed by Funktronic Labs studio The plot of the campaign revolves around the effects of an experiment carried out by 111 brilliant scientists from an alternative universe, where time passes in turns. According to their theories, success was supposed to enable them to discover reality where real time reigns. Unfortunately, something went wrong and this opened an anomaly that merged both dimensions. Worse still, all the scientists who could fix it were scattered around the surrounding planets. We play the role of the pilot of the research ship Nova, who sets out on a mission to find and save the eggheads, because only in this way will we close the anomalies and separate the dimensions. During the game, we have the opportunity to visit a large set of alien planets, and our journeys are accompanied by artificial intelligence to help us with advice. During the game, we explore two-dimensional levels resembling maps from typical platformers, although the fact of steering the ship gives us greater mobility. Most of the actions, including movements and combat, are turn-based. At the same time, we have access to many special powers that allow us to manipulate reality, e.g. by turning on real time or stopping it completely. Similar effects are also triggered by traps or certain enemies. There is no shortage of strategic fights and arcade challenges in the game, but the gameplay focuses primarily on solving puzzles, and many of these puzzles require us to use our special powers creatively. While playing, a key role is also played by collecting mechanical parts, which we then use to improve the ship and equip it with new functions.
