This fishy tale may well be Sicilian in origin. If you have never sung in Italian before you may find the words of the chorus tongue-twisting at first, but Italian is such a delicious language to pronounce that with practice the words will trip off the tongue. Fédéri would appear to be the sailor's name; it has overtones of loyalty and trust ("fede" in Italian means "faith").
