Rose Snow Princess. Rose Climbing Snow Princess for Sale UK

Rose Snow Princess. Rose Climbing Snow Princess for Sale UK

Rose Snow Princess is a floribunda climbing rose that’s smothered with bright white flowers from early summer to late autumn. It flowers freely and copiously unlike some roses that tend to offer one single blooming and require coaxing to produce a second flush. This makes it perfect for smaller gardens and balconies or for gardeners with restricted movement. Flowers appear in June with semi-double cup-shaped blooms that have bright white dazzling petals. They are lightly fragrant with a traditional rose scent, but they’re not overpowering. How Hardy Is Rose Climbing Snow Princess?Rose Snow Princess is hardy in all areas of the UK. Its flowers are particularly valued by rose enthusiasts because they don’t spoil in rain, and they tend to stay on the flower head during windier conditions. How To Use Rose Snow PrincessFloribunda roses have many heads of flowers that bloom in groups at the end of each stem. This means they flower thickly, providing cover for unattractive areas.Rose Snow Princess is perfect for a sunny or semi-shaded wall or mid-height fence, such as a front garden fence. It offers protection against unwanted cats but attracts pollinators such as bees and ladybirds. If you don’t have a suitable wall or fence Snow Princess will grow happily up an obelisk in the middle of a larger flower border or in a container. Rosa Snow Princess is relatively compact so it fares well in containers if you keep them watered and fed. They are the perfect size for a balcony or patio. Rosa Snow Princess’s pure white flowers won’t clash with other shades, so try combining her with any colour clematis or a passion flower for a striking summer display. How To Care For Rose Snow PrincessLike all roses, Snow Princess will flower best when mulched with well-rotted manure. If you do this in early spring it will boast bloom production and the overall health of your plant. Prune Snow Princess in autumn or early spring before new growth has started to form. Cut back around a third of the old growth to stimulate fresh, healthy new stems. Roses flower on the new year’s growth so don’t worry about ruining display, Snow Princess responds well to pruning. Cut out any dead wood or crossing stems too as this allows light and air to circulate.Rose Climbing Snow Princess is perfect for that tricky mid-height level. It’s tough, thrives in a container, flowers all summer long and requires little care. You won’t be disappointed with a glorious pure white Snow Princess.

Corylus Hallesche Riesen Hazelnut Hallesche Reisen Tree

Corylus Hallesche Riesen Hazelnut Hallesche Reisen Tree

Corylus Hallesche Riesen or Hazelnut Hallesche ReisenThe hazelnut is the oldest nut variety used in Europe. The Corylus Avellana Hallesche Riesen originated in the Halle region of Germany during the late 1700s. The nut tree quickly won acclaim for its ample yield and superb flavour. The hazelnuts are quite large and provide a sweet, bold taste. Each nut measures about 4 centimeters and are round in shape. The nuts are typically ready for harvest during mid-September. The robust hazelnuts of the Corylus Hallesche Riesen can easily be stored in a dry place and last throughout the winter months. Their ability to store well made them a highly coveted food staple throughout ancient Europe, especially during the often cold, long, bleak winters. The Hazel Nut Hallesche Reisen is a hardy, strong growing deciduous hazel tree. When fully grown it will reach a height of 7 metres. Its leaves are bright green with slightly bluish margins. The leaves are egg-shaped and measure 6 to 10 centimeters long. During the autumn, the foliage turns a brilliant yellow hue that instantly attracts admiration. Unlike most hazels, the Corylus Hallesche Riesen blooms later in the season so is less susceptible to any unexpected late spring frosts. Catkins and flowers typically appear from March to April. The male catkins are golden and exceptionally showy. The female catkins are very small and reddish. The male Hallesche Riesen variety produces ample pollen which makes it well suited for pollinating bushes of natural stock. In order to produce a nut crop, a pollinator must be provided because the hazel is not self-pollinating. To ensure an ample yield, it is suggested that you plant at least two hazel trees of any variety within close proximity of each other because they depend on the wind for pollination. Ideally, space them about 4 metres apart. The Corylus Hallesche Riesen is very hardy and can withstand cold and wet conditions. It features a strong, upright growth habit. Plant in a full sun area or partial shade location. It tolerates most soil conditions but grows best in a planting site that contains ample organic content. Consider growing the hazel tree as a dense hedgerow. Hazelnuts are a valuable food source for woodland creatures and the tree’s dense growth provides optimal shelter for wildlife and songbirds. The Hallesche Reisen trees are relatively easy to grow and don’t take up an enormous amount of space so they are perfect for even small cottage gardens.

It was introduced to the UK in the 1880s from Korea and Japan and has adapted well to the UK climate. In spring, slender Japanese Rowan unfurls brand new pale green pinnate foliage on slightly drooping stems. As spring progresses its foliage matures to deeper green and is joined by creamy-white spring flowers in heads up to 15 centimetres across.Japanese Mountain Ash is loved for its bright berries and Sorbus Wilfordii doesn’t disappoint. Its creamy flowers develop into large clusters of red and orange-red berries that are loved by blackbirds, waxwings, and thrushes. As autumn approaches its pinnate foliage slowly turns shades of yellow then red and finally purple before falling with the late winter frosts.Japanese Rowan is a very attractive slender tree with lots of colour and interest all year round. It doesn’t get too big so its suits urban areas and compact gardens that love birdlife.Height And Spread of Sorbus WilfordiiJapanese Mountain Ash reaches a maximum of 12 metres, but only spreads across 4-8 metres. It’s a slimline tree that takes 50 years to reach its full potential height. How Hardy Is Sorbus WilfordiiIt’s fully hardy in the UK if it’s grown on well-drained soil. How To Use Sorbus WilfordiiJapanese Mountain Ash suits wildlife-friendly, low-maintenance gardens as part of a colourful woodland scheme, but it’s also a superb specimen tree in compact urban gardens.Sorbus are very popular trees for housing estates because they are slim and colourful and don’t outgrow their space. If you’re looking for a hardy compact tree with lots of interest then Sorbus Wilfordii is a reliable choice. How To Care For Sorbus WilfordiiThis is an easy-grow tree that suits the majority of well-drained soils. Full sun or partial shade is important, but it’s not fussy about pH and will happily grow in chalk through to sand and drained clay.Exposed or sheltered spots are suitable, but more flowers and berries will grow on sheltered specimens. Pruning isn’t required but you can remove damaged or wayward branches in the dormant winter months.Be sure to give it lots of water until you see new growth because underwatering is a top killer of newly planted trees. Apply a thick layer of well-rotted organic matter in spring to trap moisture and provide nutrients for the coming year.

Rosa American Pillar. Rose American Pillar Rambling Rose

Rosa American Pillar. Rose American Pillar Rambling Rose

Rosa American Pillar Rambling RoseThe Rosa American Pillar is far more hardy than most rambling rose bushes. It grows to a height of 300 to 600 centimeters. Also called the Rose American Pillar this Rambling Rose is an excellent climber for garden structures, fences, arbors, pergolas or walls. It features long, arching branches that boast a bevy pink and white flowers. The rambler rose cultivar bears a striking resemblance to wild rose bushes. The blooms of the Rambling Rose are singular and feature bright pink petals with a white core. Each rose blossom measures about 5.5 centimeters across. The brightly coloured flowers appear in clusters along the arching canes of the rose bush. Unfortunately, unlike other rose bushes such as Aloha, the blossoms of the Rosa American Pillar boast no fragrance, but the rambler’s distinct beauty makes up for its lack of heady perfume. The rambler produces flowers virtually non-stop from spring until autumn. Following flowering, Rose American Pillar develops bright red hips that bear a striking resemblance to cherries. The hips are a favourite foods source for birds and woodland creatures. They provide visual interest, especially during the autumn months. The Rose American Pillar grows and flowers best when planted in full sun. It can tolerate shade but requires at least six hours of sun per day to develop properly. A shady location will also diminish flower production and can make the rambler take on a lanky appearance. Also, the lack of sunlight can promote powdery mildew. For best growth, choose a planting location that is well-draining and rich in organic matter. Keep the soil evenly moist to encourage the rambler to develop a strong root system. Once established, it can withstand periods of short drought. To promote flowering, fertilize the Rose American Pillar in the spring and fall using a general purpose fertilizer or rose-specific fertilizer. Follow the directions on the fertilizer’s label for application ratios. Rosa American Pillar can be pruned in the late summer for regular maintenance. If you want to severely trim back the rambler then you should wait until late autumn or early winter. Dr. Van Fleet developed the Rose American Pillar cultivar in 1907 and since its early inception, this variety of rambling rose has become a popular addition to many gardens around the world. Its vigorous growth, reliability, and hardy nature make it virtually care free. If you are seeking a profuse rambler that puts on a non-stop flower display all season than the Rambling Rose might be the perfect addition to your garden. Plant it in a location where its sheer size and breathtaking beauty can truly be appreciated.

Quercus Robur, Quercus Pedunculata, English Oak trees buy UK

Quercus Robur, also known as Quercus Pedunculata or English Oak, is a magnificent tree native to the UK. This long-lived and much-loved tree is one of the most common species to be found in the UK, and with good reason - bring its stately beauty home to your own property! The English Oak has long held a special place in the forests of the UK, where it is a native species. As Quercus Robur matures, it forms a wide, spreading crown which casts a dappled shade onto the ground below. The 10 cm long dark green leaves emerge in May, at the same time as the 2- 4 cm long yellow catkins which hang from the branches. Once an English Oak tree has reached about 40 years, these flowers are followed in autumn by the 2- 2.5 cm long acorns that are a favourite food of many wild animals. The leaves turn a reddish-brown in autumn. Hardy in all parts of the UK, Quercus Robur will grow to a height of 12 metres and spread of 8 metres in 20 to 50 years. However, it will continue to grow fairly rapidly for up to 120 years, reaching a final mature height between 20 and 40 metres. This is a tree to plant for the future, not just for your lifetime.
