Hirschfeld's celebrated drawings of New York and Hollywood have delighted fans for many years. However, less well-known are the five hundred works in his archive dedicated to the British!The caricature style of Al Hirschfeld is legendary. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts, designated a 'Living Legend' by the US Library Of Congress. His work has appeared on US postage stamps, and for seventy-five years his work was the centrepiece of the New York Times' Arts And Leisure section.This collection of over 200 drawings represents the artist's wry but affectionate view of the British acting aristocracy.
