Out of Reach is a sandbox survival sim with RPG elements. The native development studio Space Boat is responsible for the creation of the title, and its production was supported by a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo website. The authors limited themselves to a modest storyline, focusing their forces on the gameplay combining the best features of games from this genre released so far. In the game, we play the role of a survivor who ends up on one of the islands of an unknown archipelago, and what happens next depends only on us.As in most similar games, one of the most important elements of the game is the survival aspect. As a shipwrecked survivor, we must wisely choose a place that will become our new home, and then take care of basic life needs, such as hunger or clothing. When exploring an open world filled with meadows, deserts, forests and caves, we come across many species of wild animals that will perfectly serve as food. But that's not all. It is also necessary to constantly search for raw materials such as wood, stone and flax. Thanks to this, by using special workshops, we can create basic tools, weapons, armor and other items. Interestingly, in the course of the game, we can also improve them, which has a significant impact on the parameters of the items themselves and the characters wearing them. The crafting system has been implemented in a very accessible form, which is why we can easily create both simple items and powerful fortresses that will be used to defend against possible enemies. A completely new element is the ability to construct advanced siege machines such as trebuchets, ballistae and battering rams.
