The design originates from Mandalaki Studio, an Italian design studio founded in 2012 by Enrico De Lotto, George Kolliopoulos and Giovanni Senin. The name KOINè means "common language" in Greek and suggests the elegance and purity of forms that make the lamp extremely versatile. The lightbulb has a specially designed mineral lens that distributes a uniform and clear light beam.
