The developer, formerly known for Amiga games, describes Hidden Deep as a passion project he has been working on for years. It is his first title in over twenty years. In the game, we play the role of a four-person research team exploring a mysterious complex at the bottom of the ocean.StoryThe background to the game's plot is a failed research expedition deep under the ocean's surface. A group of scientists was sent to investigate the mysterious anomalies in the complex discovered there. Suddenly, without warning, scientists 'contact with the base ceased, and the researchers' fate remained unknown. The game starts 681 days later. A second, much better prepared expedition is sent to the bottom. Their mission is to investigate the fate of the previous team and the interior of the complex. The title draws inspiration from films such as Alien or Something , putting us in front of bloodthirsty, grotesque creatures who want our death.GameplayThe player's goal is to explore caves and chambers, combined with fighting the attackers. Our team consists of four heroes. We can lead them simultaneously, separately or in smaller groups. Each investigator has different types of tools at his disposal, such as scanners for detecting enemies or hidden rooms, climbing ropes, and explosives. The player also has the opportunity to direct heavy machinery such as drills or cranes. With the help of these mechanics, we have to solve puzzles and find hidden passages. The game puts a lot of emphasis on physics and destructible surroundings.
